Black Artists Foundry

Black Artist FoundryIn keeping with our mission to promote the arts in our community, the Kingsley Art Club is proud to support the BLACK ARTISTS FOUNDRY with a total of $10,000. These funds benefit local artists like muralist, teacher, and community activist Shonna McDaniels, whose work, “Nubian Woman,” you see below. The first grant of $5,000 went to support the group’s fall funding.

The BLACK ARTISTS FOUNDRY was founded by Sacramento black creatives to address inequity in arts funding. Through micro and small grant-giving they are attempting to close the gap that black artists face in beginning and sustaining their art careers.

These funds have benefitted local artists like muralist, teacher, and community activist Shonna McDaniels, whose work, “Nubian Woman,” you see below.
