In keeping with our mission to promote the arts in our community, the Kingsley Art Club is proud to have supported the BLACK ARTISTS FOUNDRY with a $5,000 grant in 2020-2021. Grant funds benefited local artists like muralist, teacher, and community activist Shonna McDaniels, whose work, “Nubian Woman,” you see below.
The BLACK ARTISTS FOUNDRY was founded by Sacramento black creatives to address inequity in arts funding. Through micro and small grant-giving they are attempting to close the gap that black artists face in beginning and sustaining their art careers.
