September 21, 2:30 pm: Rachel Gotlieb
Title: “Collecting Modern and Contemporary Ceramics at the Crocker Art Museum”
Rachel is the first Ruth Rippon Curator of Ceramics at the Crocker Art Museum.
She will talk in the auditorium for 30 minutes and then take the attendees to the newly installed galleries for a 30 minute visit and discussion. Come see how you oversee one of the nation’s largest ceramics collections.
October 19, 2:30 pm: Gallery Panel: D. Neath, Mima Begovic, Beth Jones and Lynda Jolley
Title: “Keeping a Gallery Running – Why it is such a pleasure. ….and why is it such a Struggle?!”
D. Neath of Archival Gallery, Mima Begovic of ArtSpace 1616 and Beth Jones and Linda Jolley of JAYJAY Gallery will explore the gallery world. You won’t want to miss these staples of the Sacramento art community discuss running an art gallery with Kingsley Art Club Vice-Chair, Outreach Committee, Scott Heckes.
November 16, 2:30 pm: Anthony Maki Gill
Title: “An Artist’s Alchemy: Curiosity, Creativity, Community and Clay”
Anthony Maki Gill is an art maker, arts advocate, educator, and community-builder living and working in the foothills of Northern California. You will enjoy hearing the insights he has gathered from his many and varied roles in the art community.
